Ghaziabad:
Expressing concern over growing incidents of children falling into open drains, Ghaziabad MP Rajnath Singh on Friday said irresponsible civic authorities are responsible for death of the kids.
"Most of the drains are uncovered in the district and the authorities concerned are careless over the issue. Despite repeated complaints to district Nagar Nigam, most of drains are still uncovered," the BJP leader said after meeting the family members of four-year-old Sunny, who died after falling into an open drain while playing outside his school in Vasundra area in Ghaziabad.
He assured the family members to discuss the issue with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and ask for stringent action against officials and employees responsible for Sunny's death.
Sunny was playing outside the premises of the private school yesterday when he fell into an open drain in Sector 16 of Vasundra area.
