Ghaziabad:
A 16-year-old girl was found burnt to death here on Tuesday, police said. The victim's family said she was gangraped before being set afire.
The girl was burnt to death in her house in Loni town on Monday night and the body was found the next morning, police said.
On Monday night, the girl was asleep in a room in the house with her two younger brothers while the parents were away to Meerut to attend a wedding, police said.
In the morning, the girl's body was found in the adjoining room.
In their police complaint, the parents said their daughter was gangraped by miscreants in the locality.
"We are investigating the case and waiting for the post-mortem report. It seems she was set afire to cover up another crime," said Superintendent of Police Jagdish Sharma.
