Ghaziabad:
A Haryana police constable was arrested yesterday in connection with the loot of over Rs 1 crore from a businessman last month, police said yesterday.
Sanjeev Kumar, who was absconding, was arrested and Rs 6 lakh, 35 thousand recovered from him, SSP Nitin Tiwari said.
In the incident, Faridabad resident R K Sharma had withdrawn Rs 1 crore from a bank in Rajnagar RDC and taken Rs 25 lakh from a factory.
His car was later intercepted by another one near Vivekanand Nagar in Ghaziabad and two men in uniform snatched the cash from him after which they fled. One of them was carrying a government-issued rifle.
Kumar was arrested from Chaprela in Haryana yesterday.
