Ghaziabad: A Home Guard was beaten to death by four men claiming to be journalists when he refused to allow a car carrying them as also an autorickshaw to cross a traffic barricade at Vasundhara area here.
Vimal Tiwari (32) was on duty at the Vasundhara traffic signal in Ghaziabad when the four men came in a car and asked Tiwari to allow them as also an auto to cross the barricade set up to regulate traffic flow on a route used by 'kanwariyas' (followers of Lord Shiva).
When Tiwari refused to comply, he was beaten up. The men fled from the scene soon after.
Inspector of Indirapuram Police Station, Gorakh Nath, said two cases have been registered and police are looking for the absconding men.
