Ghaziabad:
Close on the heels of rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Subhash Nagar area in Ghaziabad, a man was arrested today for allegedly attempting to rape a minor in Sahibabad locality of the district.
The accused Pawan, a labourer, had tried to sexually assault the 8-year-old girl finding her alone at the terrace of her house, said SP (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav.
She, however, raised an alarm following which Pawan fled from the spot, said Mr Yadav adding, that the accused was later arrested and is being questioned in connection with the case.
A case into the matter has been lodged and the girl has been admitted to the district hospital for medical examination, Mr Yadav said.
