Man Arrested in Ghaziabad With Fake Currency Notes Worth Rs 90,300

Ghaziabad: A Delhi resident has been arrested for allegedly possessing fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 90,300 in Ghaziabad.

Acting upon a tip off, Layak Husain Ansari was arrested last night near Hindon Air Force station here while his accomplice managed to flee, SHO Hari Dayal Singh Yadav said.

Counterfeit currency worth Rs 90,300 was recovered from his possession, the SHO said.

During interrogation, Layak, a resident of Samaypur Baadli in Delhi confessed of dealing with fake currency for many years now, Mr Yadav said.

We are trying to find out more about the accused's links with fake currency racket, he said.

A case under Sections 489 B and 489 C of the IPC has been registered against him and the hunt is on top nab his aide, police added.
