Ghaziabad: Loni police today arrested two persons for allegedly killing a man who was reportedly in a relationship with the sister of one of them.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Yadav, acting on a tip-off, police arrested Joginder and Monu, residents of Rajpur village, from Jawali canal at around 1 pm.

During interrogation, the two confessed that on August 22, they had smothered Pramod alias Bali because the victim was in a relationship with Joginder's sister.

Joginder and Monu strangled Bali with a leather belt before smashing his face with a brick so nobody could ascertain his identity.

The duo then dumped the body in the forest and went absconding.

Bali's younger brother spotted the blood-stained slippers of the victim while going to the field the next morning. He immediately raised an alarm. The villagers launched a hunt for Bali and eventually, found his body.

On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

Acting on information provided by the accused, the police have also recovered the murder weapons -- a brick and a leather belt.
