Ghaziabad : A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) on Sunday organised a 'People's Parliament' in the district to protest against the government's land acquisition policy.
The 'Jan Sansad', organised by NGO Subhash Chandra Bose Sansthan, criticised the "weak" land acquisition policy in the state and claimed successive governments had forcefully acquired agricultural land in Ghaziabad district.
The day-long meeting was attended by different Opposition parties and farmers' organisations.
"Farmers are forced to physically prevent the government from acquiring their land. They have no other place to go as the present land acquisition policy, if there is any, is oppressive," General Secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha, Narsesh Sirohi, said.
