Panic In Ghaziabad School After Hoax Bomb Call

Chhabeel Dass Public School received a phone call on its landline phone, with the caller stating that a bomb had been planted on the first floor.

Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad city was gripped by panic on Tuesday after a prestigious public school received a call, stating that a bomb had been planted on the first floor of the building.

According to police, Chhabeel Dass Public School received a phone call on its landline phone, with the caller stating that a bomb had been planted on the first floor of the academic block.

Peon Nanak Chand received the call and informed the principal. Soon, another call was made and a school teacher attending it was told not to take the call lightly. The teacher was informed that the bomb had been planted in the school.

The school authorities immediately informed police which evacuated the building.

The SP City and the Additional District Magistrate, City, reached the venue. The bomb squad and a dog squad were sent to the school.

Every article was screened and students' bags were screened. Later, the students were sent back to their homes.

As the frisking and cleansing operation was underway, the vehicular movement came to a halt and there was a traffic snarl around the school. After a two-hour screening operation, police declared it was a hoax call.

"The call was proved hoax. We are trying to trace the caller" said the Superintendent of Police, City, Salman Taj Patil.
