Ghaziabad:
Two school boys were suspended from a public school in Ghaziabad for allegedly consuming alcohol inside their classroom, officials said today.
Students of Class XII of a local school situated near the National Highway 24 have been suspended for a week by the school management for bringing alcohol in water-bottles and consuming it inside the classroom, they said.
The students also misbehaved with a teacher later who had caught them drinking, the officials said.
Meanwhile, family members of the suspended students have come to their defence saying the water-bottles contained cough syrup which smelt like alcohol.
In the past one month, 12 students of the same school have been held for carrying alcohol in water-bottles.
