Ghaziabad:
The body of a missing six-year-old girl, allegedly raped and murdered, was found in the fields in the Loni area of Ghaziabad Saturday, police said.
According to family sources, the girl went missing from outside her house in Ambedkarpuram Colony in Shahbaaz Colony Wednesday.
After searching for her, her family alleged that they approached police, but were turned away.
The family members also claimed that even though they had apprised police about the suspect who had kidnapped their daughter, police made no efforts to trace her.
The girl's body bore injuries on her head and her face was bruised. Her mouth was gagged with a cloth.
A police official said: "We have sent the body for post mortem only after which the nature of injuries would be clearer. It is too early to say anything."
The family has named Babu Lal, who also hails from the same place in Madhya Pradesh from where the victim's family belongs. He frequented the family's house often.
A case was registered at Loni police station under section 302 (murder) against Babu Lal, who was however, yet to be arrested.
