Ghaziabad:
A three-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour here on Sunday after being lured to his room with toffees, police said. The accused has been arrested.
The incident occurred at about 6.30 p.m. in Rahul Vihar area.
Police said the 23-year-old accused lured the girl, the daughter of a casual labourer, to his first floor residence by giving her toffees and raped her. As the victims cried out in pain, local residents barged in to the house nabbed the rapist. Police were also informed.
A police team that reached the spot took both victim and the accused to the government MMG Hospital where a medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.
"A case under section 376 of IPC and sections of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act has been registered against the accused. He has been arrested while the girl has been admitted for the treatment," said Superintendent of Police (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav.
The accused was alone at home when he enticed the girl and raped her. The girl is the daughter of a casual labourer who was at his job at that time, added Yadav.
