Ghaziabad : Union minister and local MP VK Singh today pitched for a CBI probe into the recent attack on BJP leader Brijpal Teotia by attackers.
"The Uttar Pradesh government must hand over the investigation to the CBI to unearth the truth," he told reporters after hoisting the Tricolour at his residence. Gen Singh claimed that the state police was "under pressure" to probe the case.
Alleging that the law-and-order situation was "deteriorating day-by-day" in the state, the union minister of state for external affairs said, "Only the CBI can find out the real culprits behind the incident."
Unidentified armed assailants had opened fire at Mr Teotia's vehicle on Thursday night. The BJP leader had received six bullet injuries in the incident and is currently admitted to a hospital.
Mr Teotia's driver and five private security guards had also sustained bullet injuries in the incident
