Woman Held For Murdering Councillor In Ghaziabad
Police said that the motive behind the murder was not immediately known.
Ghaziabad: A woman was arrested for her alleged involvement in the murder of a 52-year-old councillor who was mercilessly battered to death by around four persons in Ghaziabad, police said today.

Chotey Lal of Nagar Nigam ward number 18 was sleeping outside his house due to electricity failure when the accused mercilessly thrashed him with iron rods on the intervening night of July 20 and 21.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to GTB hospital in Delhi. Chotey Lal yesterday succumbed to his injuries he had received in his skull.

His brother Satyendra alleged that Lal was attacked by Raju Sharma, Rahul, his wife Shabana and her sister Afsana alias Andhi.

Police said that the motive behind the murder was not immediately known.

Afsana has been arrested while the other accused are absconding, police said.
