Ghaziabad: A veterinary doctor sustained serious burn injuries when a woman threw acid at him in Vaishali today, police said.
The incident took place this morning at the victim, Amit Verma's clinic in Sector 4, Vaishali after he had a heated argument with the woman after which she threw acid on him, Indirapuram SHO Gorakh Nath Yadav said.
Verma was previously working in Meerut and recently shifted his clinic in Ghaziabad. The woman was probably upset after he refused to marry her, he said.
He sustained serious acid burns and was rushed to nearby hospital in Kaushambi by his family members but refused to lodge any complaint against the accused woman, Mr Yadav said.
In case police will receive any complaint, action will be taken against her, he said.
