Panaji: The urge to click a selfie while hanging from a rickety scaffolding in coastal village of Anjuna proved costly for two women tourists, who suffered spine injuries, rendering them paralysed.
The victims, both in their mid-20s, were taking a selfie while posing on a scaffolding near a resort on Wednesday, when they fell and suffered injuries, a senior official here from the Manipal Hospital said.
"They were on a scaffolding one-storey high when the scaffolding collapsed. They are paralysed waist downwards due to injury to the spine, but both are alive," Shekhar Salkar, a senior consultant at the Manipal Hospital, told reporters.
The hospital has, however, refused to divulge the identity of the two women patients.
No police complaint was registered yet.
