A Chennai-bound Oman Air flight from Muscat today made an emergency landing at Goa International airport in Dabolim after a woman passenger was taken ill.
"There was (an) emergency landing due to a medical reason at 7 AM today. Oman Airway's flight that was flying to Chennai from Muscat had a woman passenger who reported sick mid-air," Dabolim Airport director, Bhupesh Negi told PTI.
The passenger was later declared dead by doctors, he said.
The flight later took off to its scheduled journey.
Meanwhile, Goa Police, which lodged a case in this regard, said the woman passenger was referred to government-run Cottage Hospital at Chicalim, near the airport.
"She was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital," a police official said.
Details of the passenger were awaited.
