Panaji: The Goa Police on Sunday night arrested a French Naval officer following a brawl at Calangute beach.
Police said that Henri Emile (29), attached to French Navy, was arrested after he created ruckus at a night club and later pelted stones on a police jeep .
The accused who was allegedly involved in a fight with bouncers at the club also damaged police vehicle while being taken to the police station.
Police said that the French consulate was being contacted to inform about the arrest.
The officials could not confirm whether the navy man was in Goa to participate in the ongoing Varuna Indo-French joint naval exercise off the Goa-coast.
