Panaji: Goa's Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar had a narrow escape from an accident as his official vehicle was hit by a tourist bus today, according to the police.
"The mishap occurred in the afternoon at Agassaim village on the national highway. We have registered a case against the driver of the bus with a Maharashtra registration number as he banged his vehicle into the official car of the minister from behind," Agassaim Police Inspector Uday Parab told Press Trust of India.
The accident occurred while Mr Parulekar was on his way back from his official visit to south Goa.
"The minister was seated in the front seat," Mr Parab said. He also said that traffic was affected for only a few minutes as police rushed to the spot and managed the situation well.
"Later, the minister left for his office in the same official vehicle," the inspector added.
