Panaji: Narendra Modi will shortly address what Goa Chief Minister and BJP leader Manohar Parrikar claims will be the biggest ever rally in the state.

"It is the biggest rally not only in the history of Goa but also in India. Almost 10% of Goa's population is coming for the rally," Mr Parrikar said.

Over a lakh people are expected to attend, he said.

The party has charged a token fee of Rs 5 per person attending the 'Vijay Sankalp' or resolve to win rally. "Those who can give more than that should give," the Goa Chief Minister said.

It was in Goa that Mr Modi was chosen the BJP's prime ministerial candidate during a party convention in September last year.

However, with the recent building collapse in Goa raising questions about the builder-politician nexus and Mr Modi fighting elections on anti-corruption plank, Goan voters will expect some answers from the BJP which is currently in power in the state.
