Panaji:
Goa police today registered a case against a Personal Security Officer (PSO) to Maharashtra Navanirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray after he threatened a truck driver with a service revolver at Borim village, 35 km away from Panaji, police said.
Superintendent of Police (North) Arvind Gauns told PTI that a truck driver lodged an FIR against the PSO, who cannot be immediately identified, at the Ponda police station.
According to police, the incident occurred in the afternoon when Thackeray's convoy was proceeding from Ponda to Margao.
Gauns said that the PSO, who is attached to Maharashtra police, whipped out his service revolver as the truck driver allegedly blocked the road without giving side to the convoy.
As per the complaint lodged by the truck driver, the PSO damaged windshield of his vehicle after slapping him.
Eye witnesses said that the situation briefly became tense in Borim village as the entire traffic was blocked demanding action against the PSO.
The situation was brought under control after Police intervened and a case was registered against the PSO.
