Panaji: Three persons were injured when a Russian national allegedly went on a stabbing spree near Baga beach in North Goa early this morning, police said today.
The accused, Edward Petrovich Goryachew, was arrested after a long chase when nearly 15 policemen surrounded him at Calangute beach, a senior police official said.
The accused in an inebriated condition stabbed three locals, including a shop owner and a rent-a-bike operator, at Baga beach.
Realising that he was zeroed-in by police, the accused began rushing into the waters but was pulled out from the waves with the help of locals.
