A Goa court today rejected Tarun Tejpal's petition for bail in a sexual assault case, which had led to his arrest November 30.
Mr Tejpal, Tehelka's former editor-in-chief, has spent a month and a half in custody. He is currently lodged at the Sada sub-jail in the port town of Vasco, 35 kilometres from Panaji, as prisoner number 624.
He was booked on November 22, after a junior colleague accused him of sexual assault in an elevator of a five-star resort in Goa.
