Gurgaon: The Gurgaon Police on Wednesday filed the chargesheet in the BMW hit-and-run case, 21 days after the deadline set by a local court ended.

On May 5, a speeding BMW car had rammed into an Indigo in which a pregnant woman, Kshama, and the car driver, Sanjay Gulati, were killed. Kshama's parents and husband, who were also in the car, were seriously injured. The BMW was reportedly speeding at more than 100 km per hour when it collided into the Indigo near Gurgaon's IFFCO Chowk.

The car was allegedly being driven by 18-year-old Suraj Sherawat, who is the son of a wealthy Gurgaon-based businessman Devender Sherawat. The chargesheet names Suraj as the main accused.

Suraj Sehrawat surrendered in a court in Gurgaon on May 15. A few hours later, he submitted a bail bond of Rs. 50,000 and was granted bail.
