Chandigarh: Authorities in Gurgaon have imposed a ban on flying remote-controlled drones and gliders in the city from August 10 to 16.
The ban has been imposed in view of Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
"With a view to maintain law and order and prevent any mishap ahead of Independence Day, the Gurgaon district administration has imposed complete ban on flying remote-controlled drones and gliders in the district from August 10 to 16, 2016," Gurgaon District Magistrate TL Satyaprakash said today.
The ban has been imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, to prevent their misuse by terrorists and anti-social elements, he said.
He said directions had also been issued to furnish information regarding sale or purchase of old vehicles, especially Ambassador cars.
