An elderly ex-serviceman was shot dead today in South Gurugram near his residence by an unidentified man.
At 9 am today, Subhash Yadav, 50, was at his under-construction plot near his residence in Badshahpur village of Gurugram. After offering prayers at a temple at the property, Mr Yadav was shot dead by a man aboard a bike. The unidentified man fired six to seven rounds at him, police said. Shellings from a .32 bore revolver were recovered from the spot.
ACP-Manish Sehgal (PRO) Gurgaon Police said: " Prima facie evidence suggests, it appears to be a case of old enmity. We are investigating all possible angles."
Mr Yadav was taken to a nearby private hospital by locals where he was declared dead on arrival. The body has been sent for post mortem.
