Gurgaon:
Two security guards were injured when they clashed with executives of a Chinese company over non-payment of salaries, police here said on Monday.
The Longjian Road and Bridge company has been working on the six-laning of National Highway-8 from Gurgaon to Jaisingh Khera village in Rewari district. The company had hired over 200 labourers and security guards from nearby villages.
"The labourers and security guards claimed that they were not paid any money for the last three months. To lodge their protest, six security guards barred the entry of Chinese executives in their office here at Khizuri village yesterday (Sunday)," investigation officer Ami Lal said.
"This led to a heated argument, followed by a scuffle between the executives and the guards. Two guards were beaten badly by the Chinese officials, who were in majority at that time. We immediately reached and controlled the situation," he said.
The company announced that it would pay pending salaries by Monday evening.
