Gurgaon:
A Gurgaon court has ordered identification parade of Suraj Sehrawat, accused of driving a BMW which ran into another car, killing two people.
The court however rejected police's plea to get Suraj's blood samples and the clothes he was wearing at the time of the accident for further investigation. The court said once the identity of the accused is established by the victims, it will consider these pleas.
Daksh Jaiswal, a Delhi University student who was in the BMW on the morning of the accident, has allegedly told the police that the BMW was driven by a person who he did recognise.
21-year-old Suraj Sehrawat surrendered in a court in Gurgaon on Tuesday morning. A few hours later, he submitted a bail bond of Rs. 50,000 and was granted bail.
The court will decide on Wednesday if Mr Sehrawat can be ordered to submit a blood sample to the police.
Mr Sehrawat faces charges including causing death by negligence - which is a bailable offence. A BMW owned by his father hit a Tata Indigo on May 5; a pregnant woman named Kshama Chopra and the driver of her car were killed. Her parents and husband who were travelling with her were seriously injured. Mr Sehrawat had been absconding since then.
The BMW was speeding at more than 100 kms per hour when it collided into the Indigo early on a Saturday morning near Gurgaon's IFFCO Chowk. Last Sunday, a man named Rajesh Kumar surrendered to the police and said he had been driving the BMW but the police refuted his claim.
