Gurgaon: A public advisory was issued by Gurgaon police on Monday for the New Year's Eve celebrations, and Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk asked people and mall/pub operators to strictly follow the guidelines.
Police said that in case women need to take a cab alone, they should first click a photo of the driver and vehicle registration number with their cell phones and email them to cp.ggn@hry.nic.in, with their names, mobile numbers, the place from where they took the cab and the destination.
There will be traffic restrictions near the Mall Mile, and certain stretches of the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road will be a "No Drive Zone" from 5 pm on December 31 till 2 am on January 1.
Special vehicle entry stickers will be given to residents of Sector 29 and DLF Phase 1 through police stations and their respective residents' associations.
Mall/pub operators have also been asked to deploy sufficient security guards, while pubs have been asked not to serve liquor after 1 a.m.
Special teams of revenue, excise and police officials, accompanied by videographers, have been formed to check any violation.
