Gurgaon: An information technology (IT) professional committed suicide in DLF City in Gurgaon late on Monday night. The police said the deceased has been identified as Surender Singh, 26, a native of Rohtak in Haryana. He was working at a multinational company, Wipro, in Gurgaon.
According to the police, Surender was found hanging in the balcony of his house by one of his roommates. He apparently used a cable wire to hang himself.
The deceased was living in a rented accommodation at H block of DLF phase 3 in Gurgaon with his three friends. The cops said they have not found any suicide note at the spot.
A friend of Surender said, "After having our dinner, all of us had gone to sleep. Around midnight, when one of our roommates woke up, he saw Surender hanging in the balcony."
According to a police source, Surender might have committed suicide because his five-year-old relationship with a girl had taken a bitter turn lately.
The girl teaches in one of the colleges of Delhi University. A case under section 174 has been lodged in DLF phase 2 police station. The body has been handed over to the deceased's family after as autopsy was conducted on it.
