New Delhi: Gurgaon's Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ravneet Garg, whose wife was found dead two days ago inside the Police Lines compound in Gurgaon, is now a suspect in the case. A case of murder was registered by the police late last night, though no one has been named as an accused yet.

According to post-mortem report, Gitanjali was shot three times and was also attacked with sticks. During the incident Mr Garg was in court.

Gitanjali's family has submitted a written complaint to the police, alleging that she was being harassed by her husband and in-laws. However, Mr Garg has claimed that his wife committed suicide. The police have indicated that there may be arrests in the case soon.

"The police is clearly involved with Ravneet. We demand a CBI probe into the killing. His family was upset as they didn't have a male child after two daughters from the couple. Gitanjali had told this to her sister," said Gitanjali's father, OP Aggarwal.

Mr Garg, who is currently in Haridwar for his wife's funeral ceremony, and his parents have been summoned by police for questioning.

The revolver, recovered from the spot, has been seized by the police and its forensic report is being prepared to ascertain who used it.

"How can a lady fire three rounds at herself?" Amit and Rajiv Jindal, Gitanjali's relatives, said.

The Gurgaon Police has formed a Special Investigation Team, headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, to probe the case. The body was found near the Gurgaon Police Commissioner's residence. Sources said that Gitanjali was seen taking a stroll in the area for the last two days.
