Gurgaon: A seven-year-old boy, allegedly kidnapped earlier this month, died in captivity due to suffocation after being gagged by his abductors.
The child, Sangam, was kidnapped on October 1 near Gurgaon Sector 10 when he was going to his father's shop, JCP (Crime) Vivek Sharma said.
The abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs one lakh from his parents.
Police have arrested the kidnappers today.
Mr Sharma said the kidnappers had tied the child and gagged him with a piece of cloth, which led to his death due to suffocation.
During investigation, skeletal remains of the child was recovered from the bushes where he was kept. He was identified from his clothes by the parents, Mr Sharma said.
