Gurgaon:
Men armed with guns on Wednesday carjacked an SUV belonging to Vineet Yadav, son-in-law of Bihar politician Lalu Prasad Yadav, on a busy road in Gurgaon and in broad daylight.
Vineet Yadav, who is married to Lalu Yadav's daughter Hema, was not in the Toyota Fortuner when four to five men intercepted the vehicle near Sikandarpur metro station on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road used by lakhs of office-goers everyday to travel between Delhi and Gurgaon, the police said.
Mr Yadav's driver Hari Prakash was driving the car. "After stopping the vehicle, the assailants dragged the driver out of the car and fled with it," Assistant Commissioner of Gurgaon Police Hawa Singh said.
Vineet Yadav lives in Delhi and was in Gurgaon for some work.
The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and have launched a hunt for the carjackers, the officer said.
