Man Arrested For Kidnapping Police Officer In Gurgaon

Gurgaon: A man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping an SHO in Gurgaon, police said today.

Mr Khalid, a resident of Palwal, had allegedly kidnapped Surender Phogat, SHO Sector 29 Police Station, along with his three associates, they said.

Acting on a tip off that Mr Khalid along with his partner was on his way from Nuh to Sohna, the police laid a trap and arrested Mr Khalid while his other associate took advantage of darkness and managed to flee.

PRO of Gurgaon police Hawa Singh said Mr Khalid was arrested after a brief encounter with the police as he opened fire at them to escape from the spot. He received two bullet wounds on his legs during the exchange of fire.

"We are interrogating him to unravel their previous crimes and the locations of other gang members," he said.

The Station House Officer had gone missing in Millennium city under mysterious circumstances after he left for an official meeting. He was later released in Kosi area of Mathura.
