Gurgaon: A man was arrested in Gurgaon today for allegedly raping his stepdaughters, aged seven and 14, police said.
26-year-old Sachin had allegedly raped the older girl three months ago while staying in Gurgaon, adjoining the national capital. "After some time he sexually assaulted his seven-year-old daughter. Later they shifted to Jagatpuri area of Delhi," Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Surender Pal Singh told IANS.
Delhi Police had registered a first information report (FIR) at the Khyala police station; the case was then transferred to Gurgaon police.
"We are interrogating the accused," Mr Singh added.
A case of rape under the penal provisions and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences law has been registered at the Sector 10 police station.
