Gurgaon:
A student was beaten to death at a birthday party in Gurgaon after a dispute over choice of music being played, police said on Tuesday.
Police said that the birthday party was organised in Gurgaon's Subhash Nagar area on Monday.
Rohit, a BBA student and a resident of Krishna Colony, was at the party with his friends. Assistant commissioner of Police (ACP) Hawa Singh said that a brawl started over playing songs and dancing on the floor.
Mr Singh said that a group of people wanted to dance to their own choice of songs and reportedly asked Rohit to leave the dance floor.
The argument led to a fight and Rohit was beaten with hockey sticks and rods, police said.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in an unconscious state but was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Police have detained a few people, including some students, over the incident.
