Gurgaon: A teenager has been arrested in Gurgaon on charges of kidnapping and raping a six-year-old girl, police said today.
Police said the 17-year-old accused, a vegetable seller in Gurgaon and native of Patna in Bihar, has been lodged in a protection home following his arrest.
The teenager kidnapped the girl on a bike on Saturday, took her to a colony falling under Rajender Park police station jurisdiction and raped her.
He dropped the girl near her home after the crime. The victim's parents, who hail from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, lodged a police complaint after the girl told them about the crime.
The girl was taken to Civil Hospital in Gurgaon for treatment, from where she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
