Guwahati: It was a better catch than the fishermen ever dreamed of. In Guwahati, a few lucky men discovered Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes floating in Chanchal Bheel, a local wetland.
"They are all original notes," said one fishermen whose net earnings were higher than usual. The money is being counted, he said this afternoon, adding that he expected the total to add upto 1.5 or 2 lakhs. The wetland, usually, has fish like Koi, Magur, Goroi, Chang and Sol.
As word spread of the bonanza, people rushed to the area to either watch or try their luck by diving in.
