Guwahati:
Three leopard cubs have been recovered today from the Broad Guage (BG) railway yard in Noonmati area of the city here, police said.
Some railway employees and labourers spotted the cubs in the corner of the yard and informed the forest personnel this morning.
As the forest employees did not reach the spot for several hours, the police was informed and they took custody of the three cubs.
The cubs were later handed over to forest officials by the police and the former was considering the release of the animals in the nearby jungles, sources added.
A vigil was also being maintained in the area as panic-stricken public feared that the mother might come in search of the cubs, sources added.
