Guwahati: A hardcore ULFA militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam's Sibsagar district, police said.
Acting on specific information, a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) Black Cobra forces launched an operation at Namsai area and an encounter took place.
A militant was killed on the spot and combing operations were on in the area in search of other militants.
The slain militant has been identified as Rabin Moran alias Habindra Moran.
