Hyderabad : At least 29 two-wheelers were burnt at a parking area on Liberty X Roads in Hyderabad today following explosion in an electric transformer, police said.
No one was injured in the incident, they said.
At around 1.45 pm, the electric transformer near the Paigah Palace exploded accidentally, resulting in the blaze which suddenly spread to the adjacent parking lot engulfing the two-wheelers parked there, they said.
"The fire spread rapidly due to petrol in the two-wheelers. As many as 29 two-wheelers were gutted in the mishap before the fire personnel could extinguish the fire by 2.15 pm. No one was injured," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) V B Kamalasan Reddy told PTI.
Mr Reddy, who visited the spot, ruled out any sabotage behind the incident.
