Hyderabad:
At least five people were charred to death and eight others injured when the lorry in which they were travelling caught fire here, police said today.
The accident occurred when the lorry carrying labourers from Odisha fell from a flyover at Kothwalguda in Shamshabad area here, they said.
After falling, the lorry's diesel tank burst and the vehicle was up in flames resulting in death of five persons on the spot while eight others suffered burn injuries, they said.
According to the Shamshabad airport police, the speeding lorry hit a side pole and fell off the Outer Ring Road flyover following which it caught fire at around 11.30 PM yesterday.
The injured persons were admitted to a hospital here, they said.
