Hyderabad:
Customs officials seized 20 kg of a narcotic drug, suspected to be ketamine, worth Rs 2 crore from a South African woman at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad in Hyderabad today.
Based on intelligence profiling, Customs Air Intelligence Unit officers intercepted one Hunguana Joana Samuel, departing to Abu Dhabi by a flight at about 12.45 hours.
After a detailed examination, they recovered 20 kg of a narcotic drug, suspected to be ketamine, which was concealed in the check-in baggage, officials said.
On being questioned about possession of any prohibited goods, the passenger had initially replied in the negative.
However, after recovery of the drug, she admitted the offence.
Further investigations are on, sources said.
The total value of the seized contraband is expected to be Rs 2 crore, sources said.
