Burnt Body Of Hyderabad Engineer's Wife Found Next To Their 6-Month-Old. Police Suspect Murder

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old woman's partially burnt body was found inside her flat in Hyderabad, while she was with her six-month-old son. The woman lived with her husband, an engineer, who was allegedly not there when the incident took place. The couple's flat was also found locked from the outside. Adding to the suspicious circumstances of her death, were injury marks found on her body, separate from the burn injuries. The woman's neighbours found her body early in the morning, after they saw smoke coming from the flat. The neighbours also rescued the woman's baby.

The neighbours then proceeded to call the police to inform them of the incident.

The police, on conducting a preliminary investigation, have said that the incident took place at around 12.30 am today, whereas the woman's husband, who is an engineer, had left home for work at 8.30 pm, Monday. It was not clear as to who had locked the flat from outside.

The police have ruled out suicide and have said that they suspect the incident to be a case of murder.

An FIR has been filed and a further investigation into the case has been launched by the Hyderabad police, who also said that the woman's husband was being questioned.

"The woman's husband, who was not at the house at the time of the incident, is being questioned," said a police official.
