An assistant city planner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was arrested after he was found to own about Rs 10 crore worth of assets, Telangana's Anti-Corruption Bureau has said.
A case of disproportionate assets was registered against A Santosh Venu, assistant city planner (town planning section), Khairatabad, after simultaneous searches were conducted at the residences of Mr Venu, his relatives and associates on Friday.
During the searches, one three bedroom house and seven flats at Narayanaguda, one G+3 house at DD Colony, one house at Gudi Malkapur, one flat at Himayathnagar, one flat at Erragadda, a Maruti Swift Dzire car, one Maruti SX4 car, one Suzuki Access bike, Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, 70 tolas of gold ornaments, household articles worth Rs 10.50 lakh, bank balances of Rs 4 lakh, were unearthed. As per records, the valuation of the assets is about Rs 4 crore.
The market value of the assets is approximately Rs 10 crore.
