Hyderabad:
An engineering student, allegedly scolded by her mother, committed suicide on Thursday after posting on Instagram that she was "afraid to be happy".
C Mounika, 21, hanged herself when she was alone in her house on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
"Nowadays I am afraid to be happy. I don't know... people don't want to look at me when I am happy in my life. Every moment in my life is going so worst," wrote the final year B Tech student in a message on Instagram peppered with sad smileys.
In another part of Hyderabad, a young man committed suicide after recording a video in which he said he was being "tortured over money" by some family members.
According to the police, Shahed Hussain hanged himself in his store. In the video, he speaks with the rope around his neck. In a suicide note found by the police, Shahed accuses five relatives of driving him to suicide over debts that he owed, by constantly harassing him.
In a third case in Hyderabad, a Class 12 student committed suicide allegedly because of study pressure.
Samyukta, 17, hanged herself at her college in Madhapur.
She stayed with her parents in the Nizamabad district of Telangana and was taking coaching classes for the common medical entrance test NEET. The daughter of a bus driver, she was reportedly depressed about not doing well in her studies.
