Hyderabad:
A 38-year-old woman was thrashed, doused with petrol and set on fire near her home in Hyderabad on Monday morning, allegedly by eight people including her neighbor who is 17. She suffered 23 per cent burns and is being treated at a hospital.
According to the police, the woman - a domestic help - had a heated argument with her neighbor and his family on Sunday night over some construction material, including iron rods, placed in front of her house in a slum area of Secunderabad.
On Monday morning, the neighbor and seven others - his associates according to the police - allegedly attacked the woman, poured petrol on her and set her on fire. Police was alerted by some other residents of the area.
All eight have been taken into custody. Further investigations are underway.
