A wedding procession in Hyderabad ended in tragedy after the groom allegedly committed suicide just hours before getting married. A 24-year-old software engineer working for a private company was found dead inside a make-up room of the wedding hall he was going to get married in. His body was found hanging at around 10.30 am, just before the wedding's muhurat was scheduled to begin.
Anxious relatives had tried to call him, but after he didn't answer, they broke into the room and found his body, reported news agency PTI.
Guests who had reached the wedding venue, in the outskirts of Hyderabad, at Kompally area in Malkagiri-Medchal district, were shocked to learn about the incident.
The reason why the software engineer, a resident of Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar area, may have committed suicide, has not yet been ascertained by police.
His body has been sent for a post-mortem, while police has registered a case in the incident.
