In a shocking incident, a man slit his wife's throat in a court premises in Hyderabad today, police told news agency Indo-Asian News Service.
The incident occurred at a court in Rajendernagar, which is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, when the couple had come to attend the proceedings in connection with a case filed by the wife against her husband.
Nagender Babu attacked his wife Soujanya with a knife within the court premises as people watched in horror. He fled soon after slitting her throat. Soujanya, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to a hospital nearby. Her condition has been declared as "critical."
According to the police, Soujanya had approached the court, seeking directions to her husband to pay maintenance. She had complained that he had not been giving her money for monthly expenses after he had allegedly been having an extra-marital affair.
