The minor girl has been sent for counselling, police said.
Hyderabad: A teenage girl in Hyderabad was abducted by two men, who allegedly took her to two hotels and gangraped her for two consecutive days. The men have been arrested. The police said the girl was taken to Srujana Inn and Three Castles. The police have found evidence in CCTV footage and further investigations are on, focusing on CCTV footage from the hotels. Forensic samples are also being lifted from the two hotel rooms, where they spent a night each.
The accused, Nayeemath, 26, Syed Rabish, 20, have been charged with gang rape and also under the POCSO (Protection of Children Under Sexual Offences) Act, the police said.
On Tuesday, the girl's mother had lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that her 14-year-old daughter had stepped out to buy medicine late in the evening on Monday, and had not returned home. A case of abduction was registered after eyewitnesses said she was taken away in a car.
On Wednesday, the police got a tip-off that the girl would be dropped at a particular location in the city, from where she was eventually rescued. The two suspects were arrested and the girl was sent for counselling, medical and forensic tests. The police are waiting for the reports.
The girl's mother alleged that her daughter was drugged and sexually assaulted. She said the teen was injected with some drug and also given an alcoholic drink before she was sexually assaulted by the two men.
Rabish is a high school drop-out, while Nayeemath used to run an optical store in Saudi Arabia, from where he had returned this March.
The girl is said to have dropped out after primary school and knew Rabish who lived in her neighbourhood.
In July, the Jubilee Hills gangrape case rocked the TRS-ruled state, triggering outrage and political clashes. A girl, who had gone to a popular pub, was allegedly gang-raped after she got into a car with five young men after a party.
The police said among the accused were five minor boys belonging to politically influential families. The juveniles in conflict with law have been released on bail from a juvenile home where they were detained.
Accused number one, identified as Saduddin Mallik, also got bail from a POCSO court in the first week of August.
